Reid’s Sunset Beach Cottages are situated on the sandy saltwater flats of John Bay in the Northumberland Shore region of Nova Scotia. Minutes away from the Cape John wharf and the village of River John, the waters of the Northumberland Strait are the warmest in Atlantic Canada. The views from any of the cottages provide great scenes of John Bay and the Northumberland Strait, and Prince Edward Island lies on the horizon. Both the sunrise and sunset can be enjoyed from each cottage and on clear nights the stars are dazzling. Just west of the cottages on the Sunrise Trail is the historic Town of Pictou, offering visitors a selection of fine shops and a vibrant waterfront. Take in the Ship Hector, a full size replica wooden sailing ship with interpretive displays at the Quay. Also along the waterfront you'll find a lobster hatchery and licensed seaside dining establishments. Experience some kayaking lessons and take advantage of rentals with Coastal Spirit. Just east on the Sunrise Trail you'll find the Seafoam Woodturning Studio and retail shop featuring bowls and other turned gifts. Travel west to the Lismore Sheep Farm and Wool Shop, a great place for you and the kids to enjoy. Visit The Pork Shop to stock up for your barbecue and the Sunrise Golf course on Brule Point for an invigorating game. Further on the Sunrise Trail you'll find Malagash, where you can take a tour of Jost Vineyards. Our accommodations include four 2-bedroom cottages (Queen bed, Double bed, Twin bed) with 4-piece bath and a century-old, 3-bedroom farmhouse (Queen-sized bed, Twin bed) with 3 baths (2-, 3-, and 4-piece). Satellite television, DVD player and VCR are available for guests. The cottages include internet service, a full kitchen, barbecue and a deck. The farmhouse includes a microwave and a dishwasher. There is a propane barbecue at each cottage. Environmentally friendly products are used. 90-acre property includes a private beach as well as a heated outdoor pool. Guests can explore a small island on the property which is the subject of local folklore.
