Porters Lake Provincial Park is located just minutes from metropolitan Halifax/Dartmouth. This park is the perfect escape from the city but close enough for day trips to visit the many attractions in the area. Porters Lake offers a quiet lakeside setting with a wide variety of outdoor activities including camping, hiking, picnicking, boating, canoeing, water skiing, and freshwater lake fishing.

Historic waterfront, Citadel, Maritime Museum of Natural History, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic (Halifax), Wilderness Interpretation Centre (Porters Lake), Cole Harbour/Lawrencetown Coastal Heritage Park System, Black Cultural Centre (Cherry Brook), Old Acadian House (West Chezzetcook), Fishermans Cove (Shearwater) and Fisherman’s Life Museum (Jeddore-Oyster Pond).

Campground accommodations include: 
80 partially wooded overnight sites (70 unserviced; 10 W/E serviced pullthroughs; 3 wheelchair-accessible).  

Park amenities include:  
Flush toilets, showers, disposal station, boat launch, small unsupervised campers beach, fire grills, wood, and ice. Wireless Internet access available at the administration building. This is a Campground Host park. Leashed pets permitted.
