Hennigar's Farm Park and Trail

The Annapolis Valley region of Nova Scotia is famous for its beauty, wonderful growing climate, fertile soil, high tides, and orchards full of plump and luscious fruit. Nestled outside of Wolfville in the hamlet of Greenwich, Hennigar’s Farm Market has been a popular farm market destination for over sixty years.

Hennigar's Farm Market
Fill up your senses with the colours, tastes and textures of the wide variety of locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables we have available, delivered daily throughout the growing season.

In addition to our fruits and veggies, you can find maple syrup, honey, bottled cider, jams and jellies, and Doreen's Kitchen - full of chutneys, chow chow, mustards, relishes, sauces and preserves.

No matter where you enter the store, the first thing you’ll notice is that we have a bakery. The smell of fresh baked bread, pies, and cookies fills the air all day long.  In addition to our own baked goods, we offer Yum! Bakery breads and goodies, and a new addition to our shelves is 24 Carrots Bakery. Locally made, these products are turning heads, and teasing taste buds.

Be sure to browse our giftware and garden areas and stop to visit with our colour feathered residents in the greenhouse.

On the Farm
We take pride in what is grown on our farm and we do everything we can to provide simply the best local produce possible. Our farm specializes in growing vegetables such as green, red, yellow, purple, ivory, and orange coloured sweet peppers, romaine lettuce, rhubarb, english cucumbers, asparagus, and gourds.

From our orchards, we produce peaches, plums, cherries, pears, and apples. We grow over 60 varieties of apples in our orchard including the classics like Gravenstein, Cortland, MacIntosh, and Russets. Some new varieties like Jonogold and Honey Crisp have quickly become Valley favourites.

Farm Park & Trail
The Farm Park & Trail is a restful place to stop in your travels through the Annapolis Valley. Children can play in the sandbox or ride the tricycles, and people of all ages can feed the goats, ducks and fish, stroll the 2.5-kilometre Tannery Hollow Nature Trail, or grab a bite at the cookhouse and relax on the patio overlooking the pond.

Our park's petting zoo is home to dwarf goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, goldfish, and turtles! Buy some goat cones in the market, then head over to feed the goats – they'll be happy to see you.

Farmersgolf
New to North America, Farmersgolf is a new type of golf that is fun for everyone - no experience necessary! Designed to be played on a farm, it was developed in Holland and is the fastest growing outdoor activity in Continental Europe. Our course - the first one in Canada! - is located up behind the farm market in our orchards and fields and is guaranteed fun for the whole family.  Open May through Oct.
