Devil's Bend Trail

Devil's Bend Trail meanders 6km through valleys and high atop great sandstone cliffs, along the Economy River to the historic Economy Falls.

Trailhead: At 2.5km on River Philip Road from Rte. 2 in Central Economy.
Significant Features: Wilderness views, challenging climbs, quiet riverside meadows, wildlife, wildflowers and mature forests.
Length: 12km return
Hiking Time: 3.5 hours

Devil's Bend Trail begins on privately owned lands leading into the Economy River Wilderness Protected Area. Trail head accommodates 9 vehicles.
The trail takes you through a dramatic landscape of cliffs and valleys, look-offs and mature forests.
Along the way hikers may spot white-tailed deer or black bear crossing the river or bald eagles overhead.
The Devil's Bend look-off stands 50 metres over the river that is sculpted by wind and rain into an intricate series of wave-like cornices.

Recommended season is from June 1st to October (Thanksgiving weekend).
