The Dalhousie University Archives and Special Collections is located in the Killam Memorial Library in Halifax. The University’s archives include the official records of the University and extensive multimedia holdings related to current and former Dalhousie faculty, shipping, visual and dramatic arts, literature, business, labour, medicine, and other areas of study. Special Collections, with approximately 80,000 items, consists of 24 major research collections and significant individual items in all subject areas. Printing history, the eighteenth century, travel accounts, Canadian literature, early anatomical texts, and the writings of Francis Bacon, Thomas Haliburton, Rudyard Kipling, Oscar Wilde, and Thomas Raddall are areas of significant research strength.
